Axial charge of the triton from lattice QCD

The axial charge of the triton is investigated using lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Extending previous work at heavier quark masses, calculations are performed three ensembles gauge field configurations generated with masses corresponding to a pion mass 450 MeV and single value spacing. Finite-volume energy levels for triton, as well deuteron diproton systems, extracted from analysis correlation functions computed on these ensembles, energies extrapolated infinite volume finite-volume pionless effective theory (FVEFT). It found high likelihood that there compact bound state numbers masses. current matrix elements background techniques one FVEFT again used determine proton triton. A simple extrapolation results earlier leads ratio charges physical ${g}_{A}^{^{3}\mathrm{H}}/{g}_{A}^{p}={0.91}_{\ensuremath{-}0.09}^{+0.07}$. This result consistent determined experiment prefers values less than unity (in which case would be unmodified proton), thereby demonstrating QCD can explain modification
